Uppercut Deluxe is a real Australian brand

Commemorating the boxer grandfather

In the 1950s, Luke Newman and Steve Purcell assumed that barber shops were using cheap and boring products. They are proud to say that they can offer a wide variety of high quality products made of the finest ingredients. A real saloon brand with no empty frills.

The name comes from Newman’s grandfather Willy O’Shea, who was a boxer in Jimmy Sharman’s team in Australia during the big crisis. His nickname “Uppercut” is built into the brand. Willy was a tough old boy, whose motto was the following: “a hard beginning maketh a good ending”. Uppercut is indeed really good.

Men need high quality shaving products every day.

At that time it was not cool for a man to care for himself. Today a good barber shop is very busy. Uppercut provides a timeless quality. We also use their products at Black Barber Shop and we love them.
